Keep Fiji Beautiful

trusts that every individual is responsible for maintaining and protecting our environment. Our daily actions and choices bring about a great deal of impact on our world today. It's really an understandable concept, but one with further reaching effects. KFB follows a realistic approach that unites citizens, businesses and government to find answers that bring about steady progress to our central issues of preventing litter, reducing waste and the beautification of communities. The Fijian landscape consists of various distinct "community environments", each with their own adjoined needs and trails. With a network of local communities and participating organisations, we will provide education attentive to the needs of societies on a larger local and effectual level.

Keep Fiji Beautiful is Officially Launched

Fiji launched its National Waste Management Strategy 2011 on this past Wednesday evening at the Holiday Inn in Suva before a packed house and under the watchful eyes of the national media. Taking full accountability for the previous actions of the country, Colonel Samuela Saumatua, Minister for Local Government, Urban Development, Housing & Environment emphasised the need for each and every person to serve the environment dutifully and to protect our increasingly precious surroundings.  He targeted pollution and littering as powerful forces that must be overcome and promoted a waste management strategy that will help to preserve our pristine environment that not only rewards locals but resonates with tourists the world over. His entire speech can be read here.

At the event, the Keep Fiji Beautiful TV spot was premiered for the attending audience and was played in all three languages (Fijian, Indian and English. Entertaining performances, all with an eco-friendly theme, of song, dance as well as a poetry reading were provided by area students.

Overall, the evening was one of high hope yet one that charters challenging times ahead.

Let’s all follow the directive of our forward thinking leaders and also do our part to Keep Fiji Beautiful.

Sponsor Post – Rosiloa

As a musical group that places Fiji culture close to our hearts, we here at Rosiloa (Black Rose) are so happy to be involved with this project and that we were called on to provide the musical score for such an impactful video. Many of our songs are about pollution and we pride ourselves on the power of educating ourselves about our past and how it all binds us to our present and prepares us for our future.

We implore you to please make every effort to volunteer and participate with Keep Fiji Beautiful campaigns. We will be there alongside you, with our voices and our instruments hopefully providing assistance and motivation to such an important cause. Preserving the environment and our culture are chains we must never break.
